11 to Midnight is a fun, original dance show that follows a couple and their friends as they attempt to make resolutions and confront their core issues over a fateful New Year’s Eve party.

Considering this project’s timeline ran up against a couple other jobs I was building at the time, my focus as Props Supervisor was dressing the set during load-in and setting the crew up with some key hand props as they headed into tech. Arnel Sancianco’s set featured dozens of cubbies and several shelves that needed to be populated with books, lamps, tchotchkes, and other trappings of a lived-in NYC apartment.

With a limited time and limited budget, I leaned into my personal props stock, helpful colleagues, and some clever rental packages to fill the set with fun things to look at it, and had a good time doing it. Josh & Lyndsay from Hideaway Circus were great to work with, and I was very happy to know that this show was able to enjoy several months on stage at Orpheum. I’m excited to hear where it ends up next!
